Variscite stone necklace with rose gold frame on dark sterling

Stone necklace with a robin's egg blue Variscite, cut in a teardrop cabochon, and set in a 14k rose gold frame on dark sterling silver. The stone is hammer set in a thick, open back, 14k rose gold bezel that accentuates the natural subtle beauty of this native untreated stone from Nevada.   A one of a kind design, made from scratch with the exception of the chain. Finished with a hook and eye clasp, the chain is thick and strong, and all the connections are soldered for security. Designed to sit close to the neck above the collarbone.

Cabbed an American lapidary, this stone is fair trade. Variscite is usually seen in a turquoise color. It is opaque and harder than turquoise.
